Things to Know & Terms
Olwinian's have unique terms for periods of time.
  • Twelve-moon = one year (360 days)
  • Moon = 30 Days
  • Times of day are based on position of sun or moon and thus: Sunrise, quartersun, halfsun, highsun, pastsun, sunset, quartermoon, halfmoon, highmoon, pastmoon.
  • The days of the week in Olwin are as follows (starting on our Monday): First Trade, Second Trade, Mid Trade, Fourth Trade, End Trade, Gather, Fest.
Olwinians often refer to those days just by their first word, i.e. “We’ll meet there next First.”
Olwin is one of five worlds also known as dominions that are each connected to one another and have one magical gate on each other. The dominions are:
  • Olwin: where this story takes place.
  • Yzindorex: the home world of the dwarves.
  • Llythlain: the home world of the elves.
  • Cazimeros: the largest dominion and place of many beings and creatures.
  • The Enlightened Dominion: assumed to be the place where the ancient, “Enlightened Ones” went to after the “time of their message.” This dominion is no longer reachable and has no more gates leading to it from any other world.
